How can I refer my child to the Counselor?

Parents, teachers and students can make referrals by phone 541-751-7288, email rleslie@nbend.k12.or.us, or appointment. Students can schedule an appointment with the Secretary in the Student Support Center or by using google classroom, their ELA teachers have the code posted in their classrooms. When referred, students are seen individually. Usually, the student and counselor work together to establish an individual goal related to the student's initial concern. While confidentiality is an inherent part of the counseling relationship, middle school students are encouraged to share with parents.

Limits of Confidentiality:

• Information will be kept confidential unless disclosure is required
• 1. The Student reveals they intend to hurt themselves.
• 2. The student reveals they are being hurt by someone.
• 3. The student reveals they intend to hurt someone else.
• 4. They give permission to share the information with another trusted adult.
• 5. The authorities request the information.
• 6. I am a mandated reporter with the State of Oregon anytime there is any form of neglect, or abuse involved I am required to report to DHS.
